Throughout my career in teaching, I developed strong interests in exploring the nexus of theory-based instructional models, design, the possibilities technology offers in aiding the transformation of teaching and learning, and assessment of learning resources using principles of design and learning.
This website provides an account of my multiple identities, personality, work experience, publications, ongoing projects, reflections, achievements, and affiliations. It also housed a comprehensive record of myself to represent my competence to complete the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation(IDD&E).
Click the checklist to help you and confirm all the necessary requirements I have fulfilled in this e-portfolio. This list condenses all the most important guidelines and best practices suggested by IDD&E Student Handbook for the portfolio exam.

Researcher. Educator. Author.
Lei Wang is pursuing her Ph.D. program in the Instructional Design, Development, and Evaluation department from the School of Education at Syracuse University. She has published over 20 articles in journals and conferences of Educational Technology, English Teaching, and Educational Communications both in the US and in China. Four of her publication have received awards.
Lei Wang is passionate about teaching, she expects teaching to become a healthier, better supported, and more efficient profession. She was inspired by her fifth-grade headteacher and was determined to join in and carry forward this noble profession. She worked in Chinese middle schools for 15 years as an English Teacher and as an administrator. In 2015 she realized classroom management is a key component that impacts students' learning. However, it was neglected by many teachers in the middle school she worked in. She then decided to get her master's degree in Educational Administration at Southwest University in China. Later on, she became the leading administrator, managing the entire grade she worked with. Her students always earned first place in English Standardized tests. However, at this time she could still get lost in day to day operations. Daily teaching, problems faced by and among instructors, academic status, management, and textbooks became a bottleneck point for her. To break through and remedy this, she came to the US to equip herself with advanced and powerful instructional principles, theories, and practices. Currently, she is a teaching assistant, teaching IDE 401 Integrating Technology into Instruction III in the School of Education at Syracuse University.
In 2006, Lei Wang published 2 student workbooks for eighth-graders by Henan University Press, which worked alongside the textbooks published by the People's Education Press. The workbooks were popular among students for several years.
